Thomas Nelson, Shareholder

Tom Nelson is a shareholder in the firm. Tom's expertise combines an understanding of federal, state and local tax issues, organizational structures and the financing of real property transactions. Tom has been a leader in the structuring of economic development projects utilizing New Markets Tax Credits and combining NMTCs with Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits and various public and private financing sources. Tom's expertise also includes the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit, issues unique to tax-exempt organizations, as well as the structuring of for-profit transactions. He provides counsel to project developers, tax credit investors and syndicators, community development entities, and lenders from the Pacific Northwest and around the country.

Prior to joining Kantor Taylor, Tom chaired the tax practice of a large Seattle law firm.
